If I had the talent to paint a calm and relaxing sky, I would paint it in deep hues and pastels.
The deep colors would carry every season that asked too much of me—the long nights, the disappointments, the questions I had to sit with before I could understand them.
The pastels would be for the parts of life that still make me want to stay: slow mornings, familiar places, good coffee, laughter that comes easily, and the small moments that remind me I am alive.
I think that is how I want to approach life.
I want to keep reaching for the things I dream of without making every delay feel like failure. I want to work hard, build a life I am proud of, and still allow myself to rest when I need to. I want to learn how to celebrate where I am while making room for where I am going.
Life does not have to be perfect before it becomes meaningful.
In love, I want to keep the same softness.
I want to love deeply. I want to notice the little things, make time, remember what matters, and let the people I care about feel that they are cared for.
But I also want to love without leaving myself behind.
I want a love that feels mutual in its effort. A love where difficult conversations are met with honesty, where care is given freely, and where I do not have to keep wondering if there is space for me in someone else’s life.
I want to remain tender, while also knowing when tenderness needs to be returned.
And in learning, I want to be patient with myself.
There are still things I am figuring out—about work, relationships, my own limits, and the kind of person I want to become. There will be mistakes. There will be days when I feel behind. There will be lessons that arrive only after I have made the wrong choice.
I want to meet all of that with curiosity.
I want to be willing to begin again. I want to let experience change me without making me bitter. I want to keep learning from every person, every place, every failure, and every version of myself that did the best it could with what it knew then.
Maybe the sky I want to paint is not only calm.
Maybe it is honest.
Deep enough to hold everything I have survived. Soft enough to let joy return. Open enough to welcome what I have yet to learn.
A life I can keep living.
A love I can grow inside.
And a self I can keep coming home to.
